BMW planning M5 with diesel, all-wheel drive?

It was not so long that a BMW with four-wheel drive - or really, anything other than the rear-wheel drive - would have seemed downright apocryphal. But these days the Bavarian car manufacturer offers traction on a growing variety of vehicles ... including the X5 M and X6 M crossovers. But an M5? If you think shudder, you can stop reading here, because the rumor is that BMW is not only the intention to invest an additional wave in the M5, but give him - gasp! - A diesel engine.

The rumors were apparently signed by an official document that triggered a particular model includes M550dX. The first letter and number, which we all know and love. The 50 refers to a new turbo diesel inline six-cylinder triple-set would be presented at the upcoming IAA in Frankfurt. The D, of course, refers to diesel fuel will burn it, and X all-wheel drive.

Although most M cars these days have simple names like M3 and M5, the fans will note that one of the first products of the division of the M535i of 1979, which came even before the first M5 in 1984. BMW may be on returning to this nomenclature for its first diesel engine, four-wheel drive sedan in the planning? We have to wait and see.
