Azure Dynamics has signed a contract with Ford, where Oak Park, MI, signed with the firm will integrate plug-in hybrid Ford F-Series Super Duty Trucks.
Work with Ford, the plug-in hybrid technology Azure will debut on the F-550 Super Duty Chassis Cab at the beginning of 2013. The agreement also enables Azure to develop plug-in hybrid drivetrain conversions on all configurations available in Ford F-350 and F-450 truck. Azure said, is that about two-thirds of its plug-in hybrid system may be applicable (is gasoline or diesel) for all configurations, Super Duty, with about a third to be certain powertrain.
It also includes the azure-Ford agreement, a so-called "ship-thru" clause, sell it Azure converted vehicles through Ford dealers qualified commercial vehicles in North America. In 2009, Azure struck a similar agreement with Ford for the Transit Connect power.
