Lamborghini would choose four-door over SUV

Lamborghini remains intent on adding a third model to its range. This, straight from the proverbial lion’s mouth – that of the company’s affable CEO Stephan Winkelmann, who would like a new model to attract new buyers to the brand. The question is, what form will that new model take?According to a new report from Autocar, the most likely scenario is a production version of the Estoqueconcept

Lamborghini licenses insane limited-edition Reventón R/C car

Like the vast majority of humanity, we were never able to lay our hands on one of the 20 Lamborghini Reventón models the company built for the fabulously wealthy. We had neither the $1.27 million it took to call the car your very own nor the connections to be one of the few to even have the chance to purchase said Raging Bull. That’s just fine, though, because Lamborghini has partnered up with De

Paris Preview: Lamborghini Gallardo LP570-4 Blancpain Edition

Typically, when an automaker and a watchmaker team up, it’s to spec out a special-edition watch. ButLamborghini and Blancpain have already done that. The two marques are also behind the Super Trofeo racing series, which Lamborghini claims is the fastest spec racing series on today’s circuits. The season just wrapped up at Vallelunga, where the two companies took the wraps off the new Lamborghini

Lamborghini Sesto Elemento concept may be the tease of Paris

Is this the concept car that Lamborghini has been teasing us in such an achingly slow manner leading up to this week’s Paris Motor Show? All signs point to yes, but it’s still too early to know for sure. In any case, the Sesto Elemento – if it is indeed the next Lambo to be hung on the walls of teenage boys from Constantinople to Timbuktu – will push forward with the jet-fighter-ish angular

Lamborghini Murciélago tweaked into JB Car Design’s LP 640 ‘Bat’

The whole ‘Batmobile’ comparison gets thrown around an awful lot on websites like this one. And this car’s not even black, so we’ll wave off of that this time. But consider the following: in the most recent Batman movie, Bruce Wayne drove a Lamborghini Murciélago. Into a truck, unfortunately. His alter-ego’s drive, meanwhile, was on the other side of the more extreme Reventón. Now along comes JB

Lamborghini planning two-tone Gallardo special edition

Back in 2005, the Lamborghini Gallardo had been on the market for two years, and the LP560-4 was still three years away. So to spruce things up a bit, the Bolognese automaker came out with the Gallardo SE. The special edition of 250 examples were differentiated primarily by its two-tone color scheme, offsetting the primary color with black trim, inverted on the interior. Now reports indicate that

2008 Edo Competition Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 Versione Nardo

October 21st, 2007. A 4am wake-up Espresso has to suffice. The remaining drowsiness disappears as soon as the 6.5 ltr. V12, now with 663 hp, is fired up. Re-torque the wheels once again. After checking the pressure of the new Continental V-max tires the edo competition LP 640 Versione Nardo rolls onto the 12.6 km (7.8 miles) long oval.

Murcielago LP 640Murcielago LP 640-2Murcielago LP 640-3Each contestant has 3 laps: The first one as the warm-up lap, the second one as the high-speed lap and the third one as the cool down lap. By now it’s 6am, the sun is rising over the test track. It’s chilly with light winds, but above all -It’s dry. On this Sunday morning the warm-up lap is driven at speeds between 280 and 300 km/h (174-186 mph). Particular attention is paid to vibrations, oil-and water-temperatures. It feels good, the LP 640, and thanks to the newly developed rear wing it’s so fantastically stable, as if the tires were glued to the south-Italian tarmac.

Now it’s on. The second lap counts and the growl of the V12 is turning into an infernal shriek as the revs rise -similar to a chainsaw cutting through a giant sequoia tree. Wide open throttle is the norm now and even at 280 km/h (174 mph) one is still being pushed into the seat.
Meanwhile in 6th gear the raging bull comfortably eclipses the 340 km/h (211 mph) mark, but there’s more. 345.7 km/h (214.8 mph) is what TЬV-Rheinland’s meticulously accurate and incorruptible GPS-based measuring system shows.

Even the newly developed rear wing could prove itself in these extreme conditions. No drop in top speed -far from it, and absolutely stable driving behavior even at these high speeds.
Driven by this fantastic success the team of edo competition Motorsport will field the Lamborghini Murcielago LP 640 with considerably more power next time. The goal is 700hp, which should allow for a top speed in excess of 360 km/h (224 mph).

Stealth-Bomber for the race track: HAMANN Lamborghini Murciélago LP640

HAMANN Lamborghini Murciélago LP640

• Aerodynamic-components provide impressions of racing motor sports
• double-pipe stainless steel rear silencer
• Wheels „Edition Race“ in 20 inch
• Carbon-look interior set
• Complete interior kits to customer preferences on individual basis

It looks like a Stealth-Bomber on four wheels. It is one of the most masculine looking sports car and it is fast. The Lamborghini LP640 through its appearance gives a clear impression it’s not just for show. HAMANN decisively set its goal to send a clear message and sharpened the Italian steer’s horns. HAMANNs modifications through look, driving dynamics and sound create a distinct difference.

Maintenance of road contact is most essential when one is pushing a super sports car to the limit. To achieve greater downforce on the front and rear axle HAMANN offers a front spoiler as well as a rear wing. Whoever prefers to show their affiliation to motor sports can order the parts in Carbon-Kevlar instead of the fiberglass version. Where’s the starting grid?
HAMANN applies further aerodynamic components in form of a two-part rear diffuser with additional air hoses for the extendable side air intakes, side sills as well as a two-part front wing and Carbon-pendants for the original side intakes in the sills in front of the rear wheels. Furthermore, a central running air box on the roof brings back memories of past Lamborghini Diablo GT-R days. Naturally, these parts are also available in Carbon-Kevlar or fiberglass.

Impressive sound and stunning rims

The HAMANN double-pipe stainless sports rear silencer (2x120mm end pipes) emits a sound similar to that generated from race tracks announcing the arrival of the blood-curdling steer. Positive side effect; an even sportier rear look. Export customers can extend their exhaust system with a HAMANN sport metallic catalytic converter.

Also for individualization of vehicles within this high performance calibre, a choice of new wheel design is inherent. HAMANN suggests its own creation „Edition Race“. This multi-pieced, forged light alloy metal wheel with black wheel spider, “Y” spoke design, Titan bolts and high polished rim flange utilized for Lamborghini Murciélago LP640 comes in the combination 8,5Jx20“ front and 13,0Jx20“ rear. As expected, HAMANN also offers here a complete wheel set with typical tires sizes 245/30 ZR 20 (FA) und 335/30 ZR20 (RA).

HAMANN prepares the ****pit of the Super-Lambo providing even more sports racing atmosphere. For this, the tuners from Laupheim, Germany offer an 8-part carbon-look interior set. The race car look is established through instrument ****pit bordure, the air bleed jet, the gear shifting panel as well as the cigarette ashtray console. Naturally, HAMANN offers each Lamborghini customer preferred alterations on an individual basis. For instance, extravagant leather furnishing in a variety of colours is possible or additional of multi-media articles.

Lamborghini Edo Murcielago LP640

Edo Competition has tuned supercars from the Ford GT to the Maserati MC12. Naturally, it couldn't resist the opportunity to apply a little nip-and-tuck to the Lamborghini Murciélago LP640.

Lamborghini Edo Murcielago LP640Lamborghini Edo Murcielago LP640 2Lamborghini Edo Murcielago LP640 3Lamborghini Edo Murcielago LP640 4Speaking of plastic surgery, there's a new rear wing with an adjustable lip, plus a rearview camera and lots of carbon-fiber trim in the cockpit.

Edo elected to forego implants, focusing instead on squeezing a tad more juice from the Lambo's already potent 6.5-liter V12.

With such tweaks as a recalibrated ECU, high-flow air filters and redesigned stainless-steel exhaust system with high-flow mufflers, the Edo LP640 is bumped to 663 horsepower and 498 pound-feet of torque.

Edo estimates 0-60 acceleration in less than 3.8 seconds, with top speed climbing to 216 mph.
