New Sport Lamborghini Murcielago

The successor to the Diablo, the Lamborghini Murcielago was introduced in two thousand and one. Just as Diablo, the Murcielago is a high powered 2 door sports coupe, designed by Donckerwolke. Fifty special editions of the car were produced to mark the fortieth anniversary of Lamborghini in two thousand and three. A higher priced roadster was introduced a couple of years later.

The high powered car is equipped with a six litre V12 engine, producing over five hundred and seventy break horse power, with a six speed manual or automatic transmission. Various elements of the body are specifically designed for high performance, with the side mirrors, spoiler and vents dynamic in function. The side mirrors can be slotted back into the body to reduce drag, the rear spoiler is adjustable, and the side rents automatically adjust to ensure optimal air intake. The price of the car is more than the Gallardo, which is the most successful Lamborghini to date with in excess of five thousand units produced, with a price of over three hundred thousand US dollars (over one thousand dollars more than the Gallardo).

The LP640 is an updated variation of the Murcielago, with much improved performance due to the six point five litre engine which produces over six hundred and thirty break horse power. The LP640 also displays some notable cosmetic changes. The styling of the bumpers were revised to ensure maximum aerodynamic performance, as well as revisions to the suspension to met the higher performance standards. The interior is more specious due to a higher roof, as well as improvements to the sound system.

The most modern and highest performing Murcielago is the LP 670-4 SuperVeloce variation, which is higher powered, has improvements to the engine airflow, and has an overall lighter body. There is a new large front spoiler, and the back spoiler comes fixed, with the buyer able to choose to have a larger wing to increase down force.
